One of the key players in procuring and delivering projects using this new methodology is BAA. BIM Smart were engaged on their landmark project Heathrow Airport Terminal 5. BIM Smart developed a number of innovative 3D modelling and integration tools for the T5 Single Model Environment and were instrumental in the implementation and management of the modelling system. The novel approach taken was for all teams to collaborate around a unified 3D project model using clearly defined workflows and integrated systems. This was seen as the first real implementation of a major BIM project.
